Hi-Wood Meadows Housing Co-op is a Housing Co-operative in High River, developed in 1992, and situated in the Sunshine Meadows sub-division in the southeast. It is located in a quiet residential neighbourhood, close to schools, churches, daycares, playgrounds, shopping, man-made lakes and many walking paths. It is more than just a place to live, it is neighbours working together, making it a safe, clean and happy community, one to be proud of. It is a great place to raise a family and make new friends through interaction on various committees and social activities.
There are 62 units in the housing Co-op, of which 41 units are two and three bedroom townhouse units and 21 units are one and two bedroom units in a 50+, three-storey apartment complex.
The residents are members of the Co-operative Corporation, which owns the whole property. Members do not individually own the units they occupy, but enter into a Housing Agreement with the Co-op. Mebers pay a monthly housing charge to cover the cost of the mortgage, taxes, and operating expenses. Members elect a Board of Directors who act on behalf of the members. Members can run for the Board, receive audited financial statements, and have a say in how major decisions are made by attending and participating in member meetings. Each household has one vote in the operation of the Co-op.
Members have the right to peaceable possession of their housing unit and to personal privacy.
